Average of 1.6 drowning cases occur in Malaysia every day

Oct 11, 2017

An average of 1.6 drowning cases occur in the country every day.

Annually, this adds up to 700 cases, most of which involve kids between the ages of one and 18.

The highest number of cases in the first five months of the year, were recorded in Selangor, Kedah and Pahang.

The National Water Activity Safety Council says these startling figures should compell authorities to introduce a comprehensive plan to reduce such incidents.
