MCPF wants investigations into suspected Abu Sayaf militants in Malaysia

Sep 23, 2017

The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation has questioned how seven suspected Abu Sayaf terrorists ended up being hired as security guards in the country.

It told the NST, the matter poses serious questions about loopholes in the screening process for such jobs.

The foundation is also urging the Home Ministry to investigate the case, and consider reviewing the mechanics and methods of applying for jobs as security guards.

It comes after the IGP revealed that seven suspected Abu Sayaff militants, all Filipino nationals, were detained last week in Kuala Lumpur, where they worked as security guards.
