Youth and Sports Ministry offers help to tahfiz schools

Sep 18, 2017

The Youth and Sports Ministry has offered to help tahfiz schools nationwide conduct free inspection of the electrical wiring at their premises.

It says it will also be working closely with the National Anti-Drug Agency to identify youths who abuse drugs and help them curb the problem.

The Ministry adds that it will work to enrol these youths into skills educational programmes in order for them to have a better future.

This, after the deadly tahfiz school fire in Keramat last week, which killed 21 students and 2 wardens.

Seven people have since been detained in connection with the fire, six of whom tested positive for drugs.
