Malaysians stranded in Russia moved to safety

Sep 03, 2017

The 19 Malaysians stranded in Russia following a severe mudflow, have been moved to a safe place.

They were on a climb to the peak of Mount Elbrus when the mudflow cut off all roads near the affected areas.

The Tourism and Culture Ministry says they are all doing well.

Meanwhile, Wisma Putra says the Malaysian Embassy in Moscow is working closely with the local authorities to evacuate the climbers.

Other Malaysians around the affected areas have also been urged to contact the Embassy or Wisma Putra.
