Death of Johor religious school student reclassified
Jul 11, 2017
The death of a religious school student in Johor is no longer classified as murder.
This, after a post-mortem revealed that the 11-year-old died from Leptospirosis, and not from abuse by the school's assistant warden, as believed earlier.
The Deputy IGP says his men will now re-examine and re-classify the case, adding that the cops may also recommend an inquest to determine the circumstances surrounding the boy's death.
Meanwhile, the Johor CID chief denied claims from certain parties that the case has been closed, adding that investigation papers will be forwarded to the deputy public prosecutor soon.
