Education Department asked to monitor rabies cases

Jul 03, 2017

The Sarawak Education Department has been asked to monitor rabies cases among students in the state.

They've also been tasked with advising school heads on preventive and control measures that need to be taken.

This, after three children aged between four and seven in the Serian district were infected with rabies last month.

All three remain in serious condition.

Two adults were also recently bitten by dogs in the district, with officials waiting for blood tests to confirm if they too have been infected.
