Fines being considered for those who lose passports
Jun 29, 2017
The Immigration Department is considering imposing fines of between 200 and a thousand ringgit, on those who lose their passports.
This, following the rise in lost passports, with over 30 thousand cases reported in the first six months of the year alone.
The Department is hoping that the fines will encourage people to be more careful with the important travel document.
Currently, there is no fine imposed for lost passports.
