Malaysian students in Sulawesi are safe

All Malaysian students in Sulawesi, Indonesia have been reported safe, following Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

According to Malaysia's Education Attache in Indonesia, none of them were at the affected areas, in Donggala and Palu City.

Some 280 Malaysian students are enrolled at higher education institutions there.

Meanwhile, the current death toll from the 7.5-magnitude quake and subsequent tsunami stands at over 400 people, with many still missing.

Malaysia has already sent two reps to join an ASEAN rescue team there, to determine the best form of assistance to provide.
