ECRL offered to be built for RM10bil

The government has received offers to undertake the East Coast Rail Link project for as low as RM10 billion, compared to the current RM55 billion price tag.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad told the Malaysian Insight, the government is considering the cheaper alternatives offered by local and China companies.

The Prime Minister said the government is willing to pay more than RM10 billion for the rail link from Kelantan to Port Klang, but will not pay more than the maximum valuation of RM30 billion.

Works Ministry to use open tenders for government contracts

The Pakatan Harapan government is making good on its election promise to implement open tenders for government projects. 

Works Minister, Baru Bian says open tenders will be used extensively to battle cronyism and ensure transparency.

MACC arrests former intelligence chief

The Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation's former Director-General has been arrested by the MACC.

Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid is expected to be remanded today, in relation to the misappropriation of election funds. 

Most Malaysians only found out about the spy agency MEIO and Hasanah, after it was revealed she wrote a letter to the CIA asking for support for former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, before GE14.

Singapore will not renegotiate water prices with Malaysia

Singapore is not renegotiating with Malaysia on water prices. 

The island nation's Deputy Prime Minister, Teo Chee Hean was quoted saying that during a recent event. 

The water price has been a hot issue for a while, as even states in Malaysia pay each other more for water, than what Singapore pays Malaysia.
