The Chief Secretary to the Government has denied that the Public Service Commission is sabotaging the government, by giving officers hired by the Pakatan government lower grades and salaries.

Datuk Seri Ismail Bakar told Malay Mail, PSC is trying to clean up the hiring process for political appointees, as per the Pakatan government's manifesto.

The authorities also confirmed the previous Basrisan Nasional government did not follow some procedures on appointing new officers, and the PSC is trying to correct those breaches.
