KJ lodges MACC report over Guan Eng's allegations on GST refunds

Khairy Jamaluddin will lodge a report with the MACC soon on allegations that RM18 billion of GST refunds went missing.
The Rembau MP's rep says the date and time on when the MP will lodge a report will be announced later.
He has already lodged a police report over the matter.
This, after Finance Minister, Lim Guan Eng told Parliament recently that the previous government had pocketed the money, instead of channeling the refunds back to businesses.

MCA to use own logo in Balakong by-election

MCA President, Liow Tiong Lai says the party will use its own logo in the Balakong by-election next month.
However, he says this doesn't mean that MCA is leaving BN.
The Balakong by-election is expected to see a straight fight between MCA and Pakatan Harapan.

The seat fell vacant following the death of its incumbent Eddie Ng in a car accident in July.

Man arrested over Bill Kayong murder
A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to death over the Bill Kayong murder case.
This, after he was found guilty of shooting the PKR Miri secretary at a traffic light junction in Miri in June 2016.
It was believed that Kayong's mob-style killing was linked to his campaign, fighting for native land rights in Sarawak.

Doctor acquitted from Datuk Syed Alman Zain Alwi case
A doctor has been acquitted and discharged by a KL court for causing the death of Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's son-in-law during surgery two years ago.
He administered anesthesia to the deceased during a dental procedure, with the prosecution arguing that he should be held responsible because he wasn't qualified to do so.
However, the judge said based on existing guidelines, anyone who was not an anaesthetist can administer sedation up to a moderate level.
