Selayang MP willing to give up post for Anwar Ibrahim's return to Parliament

Selayang MP, William Leong Jee Keen says he is ready to step down to pave the way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to replace him in the constituency.

However, he says no discussions have taken place between him and Datuk Seri Anwar on the matter.

This comes after Datuk Seri Anwar’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and his daughter, Nurul Izzah, both said they will not vacate their seat for Anwar.

MOE: UEC issue to be dealt with later

The government will only decide whether to recognise the Unified Examination Certificate in five-years' time. 

Education Minister, Dr Maszlee Malik says a thorough study needs to be conducted, as the issue cannot be rushed.

He also clarified that UEC's recognition is not part of Pakatan's 100-day pledge.

MOT may amend Road Transport Act to auction seized vehicles

The Transport Ministry says it's considering amendments to the Road Transport Act to make it easier to auction off seized vehicles.

This, after the 2017 Auditor-General's Report revealed that 9,000 vehicles that the department seized have yet to be released or auctioned off.

The reasons included weaknesses in issuing notices of seizure and poor record-keeping of the vehicles.

500 thousand Malaysians are jobless!

Economics Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali says about 500,000 Malaysians are currently jobless. 

He says most of them are youths aged 15 to 24, who are just entering the job market.

Diploma holders were the biggest group of job-seekers, followed by SPM holders.
