MOH to investigate sexual harassment cases at the workplace
Jul 31, 2018

The Health Ministry has set up a panel to investigate sexual harassment claims against a department head at a hospital in the Klang Valley.
The panel comprises representatives from the Health Ministry, Women, Family and Community Development Ministry and also other related agencies.
This, after medical officers, including housemen, lodged similar complaints to the ministries.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has urged anyone who is a victim of sexual harrasment or violence in the workplace to report directly to the ministry.

Separately, the Ministry has promised to take action against premises including childcare centres that have frequent outbreaks of hand, foot and mouth disease.
This comes after it was confirmed that a 17-month-old baby in Penang died of the disease.
Its Minister says nearly 40,000 cases have been reported from January till July 29th, with Selangor having the highest number of cases.
