Teacher faces 72 years in jail for raping student

A 53-year-old teacher in Sabah has been sentenced to 72 years in jail and four strokes of the cane, for raping a 12-year-old student.

The offence was commited between August and October 2014. 

In another case, also in Sabah, a 33-year-old man was charged with 42 counts of raping his 13-year-old niece this year. 

He pleaded not guilty, with the case set for management on November 27th.
