Over 3,500 victims displaced in flood-hit Kelantan

Nov 28, 2017

The flood situation in Kelantan has worsened, with the number of flood victims rising to over 3,500.

All the victims are being sheltered at relief centres in 8 districts, with Kota Bahru being the worst-hit.

Meanwhile, KTMB says train services between the Tumpat and Tanah Merah stations have been shut down as a safety precaution, due to the floods.

Over in Terengganu, nearly 2,000 flood victims are displaced in Marang, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, and Besut.

The remains of a 12-year-old boy, who went missing while swimming in a canal in Marang has been found by rescuers.

Up north, 16 people are being housed in a flood relief centre in Padang Besar, Perlis.
