No extradition request from India for Dr Zakir Naik

Nov 08, 2017

The government did not receive any extradition request from the Indian government for Muslim preacher, Dr Zakir Naik.

The Deputy Prime Minister says Malaysia will abide by any mutual legal assistance request made by India.

He adds the government will constantly monitor the activities of Zakir in the country and abroad and will take action if he does breaches any laws or commits an offence.

India is seeking to extradite the Muslim preacher for allegedly promoting terrorism in that country.
