Penang gives 100 million right worth of aid to flood victims

Nov 09, 2017

Penang will be giving 100 million ringgit worth of aid in a series of programmes to the flood victims in the state.

The State's Chief Minister announced each household affected by the floods will receive a payment of 500 ringgit.

The Second Deputy Chief Minister Prof. Dr. P. Ramasamy says the 500 ringgit contribution will be a one-off payment.

He says flood waters will take about 3-4 days to recede, while he predicts the flood recovery process will take about 2 months to be fully completed.
