Electricity tariff rates in the Peninsular to be maintained till 2020

Electricity tariffs will not be raised from next year till 2020 for most of Malaysia.

The Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water says the rates in the Peninsular will be maintained at 38.53 sen per kilowatt hour. 

Meanwhile, Sabah and Labuan's electricity tariff will remain at 34.52 sen until June next year. 

The governmentt says it will continue to bear the electricity tariff rebates of 1.8 sen per kilowatt hour in the Peninsular and 1.2 sen in Sabah and Labuan.
