May 23, 2018

Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has held his first Cabinet meeting since Pakatan Harapan's election win.

Following the meeting, he says the Cabinet has agreed to implement several spending cuts.

This includes abolishing a number of govt institutions including the Land Public Transport Commission, the Department of Special Affairs and the Council of Professors.

Tun Dr Mahathir also announced a 10% salary cut for all government ministers, and that the government has no intentions to buy back Proton.

He also assured that petrol prices will remain, even if global oil prices increase.
