Najib out on bail; maintains innocence

Jul 04, 2018

Datuk Seri Najib Razak has left the KL High Court, after paying HALF of his RM1 million bail.

The former PM was charged on 4 counts of criminal breach of trust and abuse of power, related to SRC International.

He pleaded not guilty to all charges and is looking to prove his innocence in court.

The KL High Court has tentatively set 19 days, between February 18th and March 15th next year for the his trial.

Meanwhile, the court also granted an interim gag order on public statements about the trial.

The defence claims that intense media coverage would be prejudicial to the case.

Attorney General Tommy Thomas says he will fight the order, saying it violates our constitutional right to free speech.
