PDRM wants parents to keep a watchful eye on their kids.

Selangor police say close to 80 percent of cases involving sexual crimes against children in the state were committed by persons known to the victims.

A total of 333 cases were reported since January this year from the 287 cases recorded during the same period last year.

The cops add that they expect the number to increase further with the upcoming school holiday, and urged parents to keep an eye on their kid's movements.

Elsewhere, six classes at a primary school in Rawang were ordered to shut for two weeks starting Thursday following the spread of mumps among students at the school.

The classes were ordered to be closed to facilitate epidemic infection control and disinfection cleansing measures.

Mumps is an airborne virus that spreads through droplets of contaminated saliva or contact with contaminated objects.
