Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is concerned about the Peer-to-Peer home financing plan, recently launched by the govt.

In debating Budget 2019 in Parliament yesterday, Anwar said he supports the move, but urged the govt to determine whether it will result in higher debt for homeowners. 

He's also concerned the approach will lead to a recession when the housing bubble collapses, similar to what happened in the US almost a decade ago.

Bukit Aman's Sexual Investigation Unit handles about 11,000 cases a year and is due for an upgrade.

The DPM says plans are underway to improve the unit, following the recent case of Baby Zara, who was physically and sexually abused before her death.

Meanwhile, the police have also reminded that they are prepared to help, if parents want to conduct background checks on nursery schools before sending their kids there.

And, the Inland Revenue Board is sending out notices to about 80,000 tax evaders with extraordinary wealth.

If you receive the notice, you have 30 days to voluntarily turn yourself in or face a maximum fine of 20,000 ringgit and/or a 6 month jail term.
