The de-facto Law Minister is confident the decision to abolish the death penalty will stand.
Datuk Liew Vui Keong said the decision is a collective one by the Cabinet, and all ministers have to support it.

A day before the Cabinet made the decision, the DPM said the govt could reconsider abolishing the death penalty for murder cases, especially child murder.
However, Liew suggested that is unlikely, saying murderers will be imprisoned for a minimum of 30 years or for life, with no possibility of parole.

The smoking ban at all eateries is a done deal, despite objections from restaurant operators.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the ban is for the greater good, to protect the public from harmful second hand smoke.
