Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun says the probe will now be handled by the acting CCID chief Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin.
Amar called time on his career after 35 years on the force.
He was supposed to retire earlier this year, but his contract was extended so that he could spearhead the police probe into 1MDB.
