Fuel prices to stay for now

Dec 31, 2018

Petrol prices will be unchanged for the first week of 2019.

The government had wanted to reintroduce the weekly float system for fuel prices, but caved to concerns raised by the Petrol Dealers Association.

This means RON97 will be maintained at RM2.50, RON95 at RM2.20 and diesel at RM2.18 per litre respectively.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet will meet on Wednesday to decide on how to manage fuel prices for the long term.
