Ed Sheeran's plagiarism case will go to trial

Jan 04, 2019

Image: Ed Sheeran is accused of ripping of a Marvin Gaye classic

Ed Sheeran will have to go to court, over claims that he ripped off Marvin Gaye's classic "Let's Get It On", while writing his 2014 smash hit 'Thinking Out Loud".

This is after a judge in New York tossed out Sheeran's bid to dismiss a lawsuit over the matter.

The suit was filed by the heir of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote the song with Gaye.

This isn't Sheeran's first copyright suit; he recently settled claims over his song "Photograph" and one he co-wrote with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill called "The Rest Of Our Life."
