Malaysian smokers appear to be adapting to the new smoking ban at eateries.

A survey by The Star has found that most are now opting for food delivery or simply staying at home...with eateries also reporting less business.

One outlet owner also told the paper, that customers have developed a habit of carrying their drinks OUT of the shop to smoke, resulting in the street being filled with cigarette butts due to a lack of designated smoking bins.

The Kelantan government is urging people to stop speculating about the reasons of Sultan Muhamad the Fifth stepping down as Yang DiPertuan Agong.

The Deputy Menteri Besar says it is the Sultan's right to step down as King, and the decision should be respected.

This, as the Conference of Rulers announced that the new Agong will be selected on January 24th.

Dutch officials will provide free legal advice to relatives of those killed in the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine, who intend to claim for damages. 

The Netherlands' justice minister says investigations into the downing is expected to wrap up sometime next year, with reports there saying a trial was due to start within the next five years - most likely at The Hague.
