Treating voters to food or drinks during an election campaign is an offence!

The Election Commission issued the warning to parties on the Semenyih by-election campaign trail, after PKR Youth revealed plans to hold a barbeque for locals.

The tweet about the barbeque was quickly removed after the EC's warning.

HR Ministry dismisses MEF claim 30,000 to lose jobs this year.

The Human Resources Minister wants the MEF to stop scaring the public with warnings of retrenchment.

The Malaysian Employers Federation recently claimed 30,000 people will lose their jobs this year, because of the rising cost of doing business.

Minister M. Kulasegaran said that's not an alarming number, as between 20 and 30,000 people lose their jobs every year.

Meanwhile, the Employment Act will be amended to protect more Malaysians!

The Human Resources Minister says workers should be protected no matter how much they earn - the current act only takes care of those who earn below RM 2,000.
