The Deputy Prime Minister says the governement will launch an operation to release specially-treated mosquitos at 10 locations in July, to help combat dengue.
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail says this is after a successful pioneer programme back in 2017.
The special mosquitoes are infected with a bacteria, which blocks the dengue virus from replicating in the tissues of mosquitoes.
As a result, the virus cannot replicate, and the insects cannot not transmit dengue to their victims.
