Don't be afraid to testify in court!

Many Malaysians are unwilling to testify in court because they are unaware of the witness protection programme. 

De-facto Deputy Law Minister Hanipa Maidin said the Witness Protection Act 2009 protects the witness and his or her family.

Authorities will also help the witness start a new life with a new identity and job.

There's no hike in taxes

The Prime Minister says there are no plans to increase taxes.

"At the moment we are not planning to raise taxes. We are in fact, if at all, we're trying to see how to reduce taxes. Malaysia for example reduced taxes on import of luxury goods, and that has helped a lot of businesses."

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that while trying to attract foreign investors from China, in an event in Beijing yesterday.

Water tariffs not going up by RM15, says National Water Services Commission Chairman

Charles Santiago has clarified he does not have the authority to announce the new water tariff, as that power lies with the Water Ministry. 

Water tariffs are a touchy subject at the moment, as the government earlier said a few states have agreed in principle to increase prices. 

Still on water, 50 percent of households affected by water cuts in the Klang Valley regained supply last night. 

Syabas says it's working to accelerate the recovery process for all other affected areas.
