The cops are targeting human trafficking syndicates

Next target: Human traffickers

The police have their next mission on the cards - they're going after human trafficking syndicates. 

The IGP says the police have a list of syndicates across several states and they are ready to move.

Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador didn't reveal more details, but assured the action is going to be very effective. 

Keep race out of it

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is against the setting up of more race-based political parties. 

He believes such parties will only divide the community further.

He was commenting of the setting up of a new political party - the Malay-based Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia, or Putra.

Facebook expands Terragraph trial

Facebook is planning to expand its Terragraph trial to Cyberjaya within this year. 

Terragraph is a new wireless technology that's able to provide fiber-like speeds, at a fraction of the cost of current fiber technology. 

It's currently being tested out in Georgetown, Penang. 

Technical fault caused bill spike

Energy Minister Yeo Bee Yin says a technical issue is to blame for complaints about abnormally high electricity bills.

However, she said someone should still be held accountable, especially after 300 complaints were made about the issue nationwide this month alone.
