PM says US-China trade war is bad for business

May 31, 2019

War - what is it good for?

The PM thinks the US-China trade war is a bad idea.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said trade wars do not serve any purpose and disrupts the economic progress of countries, including Malaysia.

Instead he urged both China and the US to focus on their strengths and promote healthy competition.

Tun M also put his backing behind embattled Chinese telecoms giant, Huawei, saying Malaysia will use its products as much as possible.

He acknowledged the spying concerns, but said Malaysia has nothing to fear.

Another day, another plastic waste problem.

265 containers of plastic waste have been found abandoned at the North Butterworth Container Terminal in Penang.

They have been there for the past 5 months.

Most of the waste is from developed countries like Hong Kong, Canada, Germany and the US.

This comes just a few days after the Energy Ministry said 10 containers of plastic waste will be sent back to their countries of origin.

And..

Penang has the highest number of breast cancer cases in the country, at 50 cases per 100,000 women.

The Women Ministry says women in the state have a higher level of self-awareness about breast cancer, which prompts them to get tested.

KL and Putrajaya have the second-most number of cases, followed by Johor.
