Mat Sabu's aide defends his use of English

Jun 05, 2019

Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu’s aide has come to defend him, following criticism of his command of the English language on social media.

Critics had hit out at Mat Sabu for his conduct during a Q&A session at a security summit in Singapore on Saturday.

However, his press secretary says it's unfair to single out an instance, when he was speaking impromptu.

He adds that Mat Sabu had no problems conversing in English when he met his counterparts from other countries, and that he's not afraid to learn and improve his English proficiency.
