Anwar: Stop the bickering over Latheefa's appointment!

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants the debate over Latheefa Koya's appointment as MACC chief to stop.

He said continous bickering is bad for Pakatan Harapan, adding party members should accept the PM's decision to choose Latheefa. 

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had earlier clarified he chose the former PKR member because she took her job seriously.
 
He also denied the appointment is to stop Anwar from taking over the prime ministership.

Probe into Orang Asli deaths continues

The mine that's been blamed for allegedly polluting the water source of the Batek Tribe in Gua Musang, Kelantan will be shut down. 

The Deputy Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister says the operators are there illegally as their licence expired two years ago. 

They have a mining licence from the state, but not with the Department of Environment. 

Water pollution is believed to have caused a pneumonia outbreak at the village, killing 14 people.

Police have promised to launch a criminal investigation if pollution is found to be linked to the deaths.

Airport? What airport?

The Transport and Finance Ministries, as well as the Kedah and Penang governments are in the dark over claims there are proposals to build a new airport in Penang. 

The Finance Minister has asked the English daily that broke the news to come up with proof, as he says the report paints the Federal Government in a bad light.
