Old folks home owner responds to abuse allegation

The owner of an old folks home in Seremban has denied allegations that its residents were abused. 

A recent social media post claimed that the residents were beaten, forced to drink urine and were given overdoses of sleeping pills

The owner believes that the allegations were probably spread by former staff, who were recently sacked.

As for a viral video that allegedly showed staff abusing the residents, he says the workers were just playing around with them.

The Kelantan Health Dept will start vaccinating the Orang Asli community around the Kuala Koh area, beginning this week. 

It says it's working with the Department of Orang Asli Development and village heads to ensure that as many of them as possible are immunised. 

Yesterday, the Health Ministry confirmed that the mystery illness plaguing the community was measles.
