More calligraphy in schools soon?

There's a possiblity other styles of calligraphy will be introduced in schools, and not just Jawi.
Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said he's open to the idea.
This comes after the government confirmed over the weekend that it will introduce Jawi calligraphy in the Year 4 Bahasa Melayu syllabus next year, despite protests from several parties.

B40 healthcare scheme eligibility lowered

The age of entry for the Peka B40 healthcare protection scheme has been lowered from 50, to 40-years-old.
The Health Ministry hopes this will see more people, especially those from the lower income group, take up health screening and get early treatment.
Right now, the programme is barely hitting 5% of it's take-up target.

Pasir Gudang factories asked to monitor smoke emissions

All factories in Pasir Gudang, Johor have been ordered to install special equipment to monitor emissions from its chimneys.
The state government said the equipment must have the latest technology, capable of providing the data directly to the local Environment Department.
This follows two air pollution crises in the state this year.
