Several RapidKL and train services will be extended for National Day

Several RapidKL and train services will be extended for National Day celebrations.

The LRT service will be extended to 1am on Saturday involving the KLCC, Masjid Jamek and Bandaraya stations.

For bus services, selected routes including Pasar Seni will be extended until 1.30 am.

It's to provide convenience for those who want to travel into the city to usher in Malaysia's 62nd year of independence, at Dataran Merdeka, KL.

Ad in cinemas to encourage unmarried mothers to seek help

The government will run an ad in cinemas to encourage mothers, who have children out-of-wedlock to seek help.

The Women, Family and Community deputy minister says among others, the ad advises such mothers to contact its Kasih 24-hour helpline, while they can also head to a shelter home.

It's part of efforts to address the problem of baby dumping.

Over 1,000 cases of baby dumping were reported from 2010 to May this year, and about 60% of the babies had died when they were found.

Among the reasons for doing so include out-of-wedlock pregnancies, a lack of info on what to do with the babies, and a lack of support for the new mothers.
