11 areas still affected by haze

11 areas in Malaysia have recorded unhealthy API levels - the highest number of places affected since the start of the haze season.

According to the Department of Environment, seven places in Sarawak, along with four in the Peninsular have API readings of between 101 and 200.

Forest fires in Sumatra, Indonesia are being blamed for the unhealthy API levels in some areas on our west coast...

while hotspots in Kalimantan are affecting parts of Sarawak.

Najib named in MACC Pekan Umno suit

Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has been named as one of the respondents in MACC's amended 700 thousand-ringgit forfeiture suit against Pekan Umno.

Apart from Najib, Pekan Umno as a division and 39 other respondents are named in the amended suit.

The KL High Court has allowed the prosecution to file a gazette notice, to allow third parties interesed in the funds that was allegedly linked to 1MDB to come forward.

The suit against the division is part of a civil forfeiture suit against 41 parties back in June, to recover a total of 270 million ringgit related to 1MDB.

More people to be questioned over Maj. Zahir Armaya death

Police are expected to call a few more people for questioning, to facilitate investigations into the death of a commando officer, who died in a shooting demonstration in Sabah on Wednesday.
