PPM is the better PPR

Housing Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin has defended her Ministry's decision to rebrand PPRs into PPM, or Malaysia's Housing Project.

"Rumah Mampu Milik is basically bigger houses - 900sq. It has well-equipped facilities and is also situated in strategic areas. So that itself is a different concept totally from what the old PPR is. We just renamed it. Otherwise PPR people will be so feeling downgraded. So we want to uplift."

PPM, which has a rent-to-own scheme, will also focus on ensuring tenants obtain bank loans.

NRD officer part of fake ID syndicate detained

Bukit Aman has arrested a National Registration Department officer and 19 others, for being part of a fake ID syndicate. 

The syndicate earned up to RM600,000 a month by targeting foreigners.
