Haze: Schools and sports organisations to stop outdoor activities in Penang

Penang has ordered schools and sports organisations to stop all outdoor activities due to the ongoing haze.

This was after the air quality in Balik Pulau and Minden posted 'unhealthy' API readings.

But, schools will remain open for now, unless the situation worsens.

Over in Sarawak, weather officials have started cloud seeding operations to deal with the haze in the state. 

Currently, 17 areas recorded 'unhealthy' air quality levels, in the Klang Valley, Perak, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, and Sarawak.

Gombak laundromat cat killer to enter defence

A man, who allegedly killed a pregnant cat at a laundromat in Gombak, KL last year has been ordered to enter his defence in court.

He was one of three people caught on CCTV stuffing the cat into the dryer, and leaving it there to die.

A second accused was sentenced to two years jail, while the other was given a discharge without an aquittal. 

6 people charged for forging and selling citizenship documents to foreigners

6 people, including an National Registration Department assistant director have been charged for forging and selling citizenship documents to foreigners.

All of them were believed to be part of a syndicate selling forged MyKad and M'sian birth certificates to Chinese nationals.
