Thanks to the haze, KL is among the world's top polluted cities!

KL was ranked the seventh-most polluted city in the world yesterday because of its unhealthy air quality. 

The entire city is still enveloped in haze, as is Selangor. 

Other areas with unhealthy air quality are Balik Pulau and Minden in Penang, Tasek and Seri Manjung in Perak, Kulim in Kedah, Nilai in Negeri Sembilan, Tangkak in Johor and Rompin in Pahang.

45 schools in the country are closed today because of the haze.

29 in Selangor and 16 in Pahang.

Cops investigating Twitter insult against King and Queen

The police are investigating under the Sedition Act, a case where the King and Queen were allegedly insulted on social media.

The Queen deactivated her Twitter account on Wednesday, allegedly because of cyberbullying. 

As a result, #AmpunTuanku was created by netizens in a bid to persuade the Queen to return to Twitter.

Cuepacs wants pension scheme maintained

Cuepacs wants the government to maintain the civil service pension scheme, saying it's the right of goverment employees under the Federal Constitution. 

The Public Service Department earlier said it was considering introducing a contract system for new hires, to lessen the burden on the pension fund.
