Can't help East Malaysia fuel prices just yet

The Finance Minister says the federal government is incapable of granting Sabah and Sarawak higher oil royalties at the moment, because of our massive national debt. 

The Pakatan government promised to share prosperity with East Malaysia under its election manifesto.

However, Lim Guan Eng said that's not possible at the moment, as the government is still struggling to deal with issues like the 1MDB debt.

Haze forces Putrajaya schools to close last-minute

Putrajaya's schools have been ordered to close for a second day today.

Classes were supposed to resume today after the air quality improved last night, but it got much worse this morning. 

That means hundreds of schools in Putrajaya, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan will be shut today. 

Selangor's air quality is deteriorating, with most of the areas with very unhealthy air quality in the state, namely Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang and Johan Setia. 

Malaysians have been reminded to limit outdoor activities and if you have to go out, wear an N95 mask.

There is no water crisis in Melaka, only intermittent shortages

Melaka residents are encouraged to report areas suffering from water disruptions, directly to the Chief Minister via his Facebook page. 

Adly Zahari says the complaints will be channeled to the state's water company, amid mass complaints of low water pressure and dry taps. 

The state's authorities have also denied there's a water crisis in the state, insisting it's only a temporary issue.
