Prepare for climate change, not war says the PM. 

In his address at the UN General Assembly, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said countries are wasting their money preparing for wars when we all could be wiped out by natural disasters amid climate change.

He stressed that all disasters should be seen as a world disaster, and all countries should be preparing for major earthquakes, typhoons, hurricanes, floods and landslides.

Register for free water in Selangor

Registration for Selangor's new free water scheme starts next Monday.

Right now, every household in the state enjoys free water for the first 20 cubic metres.

However, under the revised scheme only households with incomes of RM4,000 or less will be eligible. 

Registration will continue until the end of the year with implementation to start next March.

Call for calm after inquest verdict

The governmentt has called for calm after the verdict of the inquest into firefighter Mohd Adib's death.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the matter should not be politicised or turned into a racial issue.

The IGP has promised to investigate, after the inquest found Mohd Adib was beated to death by two or more people during last year's Subang temple riots.

Kelantan Sultan's father has passed away

The Sultan of Kelantan's father, Sultan Ismail Petra passed away this morning. 

His body will be laid to rest this evening.

Tomorrow and Monday have been declared special public holidays in Kelantan to allow the people to pay their last respects.
