Probe finds elephant in Tawau dead at hands of plantation guards

It turns out, two plantation guards killed the pygmy elephant in Tawau, Sabah last week, not poachers. 

Police say they were trying to keep the pygmy elephant out of the plantation but failed, so they shot and killed him with homemade guns. 

The suspects also led the police to the tusks, which they hid 10 kilometres from the crime scene. 

The protected elephant was found dead last week with 70 bullet wounds and missing tusks, leading the authorities to suspect poaching.

Meanwhile, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Christina Liew has reminded all parties who pledged the RM30,000 cash reward for information, to pay the informant.

A man tipped off the police, leading to the arrests of the elephant killers.

Special committee to look into food delivery company issue

The recent salary issues involving a food delivery company has caught the Cabinet's attention. 

Threee Ministries: Human Resource Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, have been ordered to form a committee to look into the matter, while the Cabinet has urged the company to revert to its original salary scheme.

Delivery riders went on strike recently, claiming the new salary scheme would decimate their earnings.

PT3 exam papers "leak" to be investigated

State Education Departments have been ordered to investigate allegations that PT3 exam papers were leaked.

The Education Ministry says it will take action against any negligent parties, following a recent WhatsApp rumour claiming the English paper had been leaked. 

However, that rumour was debunked.
