Govt proposing 98-days maternity leave

The govt wants to raise the number of maternity leave days in the private sector, from 60 days currently to 98. 

The HR Ministry says it's also planning new guidelines on letting go of pregnant staff.

It told The Star, it's proposing that pregnant staff cannot be terminated, unless employers can prove that it's NOT due to their pregnancy. 

The Msian Employers Federation says it's open to the proposal, but ONLY of the the additional cost must be born by the govt or social security.

Don't fall for phone scammers who claim that there's an arrest warrant under your name. 

The Negeri Sembilan police chief says if a warrant was REALLY issued, the cops WON'T call ahead.

He issued the reminder, especially to women, because many people are still tricked by these scammers.

Six elephants have fallen to their deaths at a waterfall in central Thailand

According to Thai officials, the incident happened when a baby elephant slipped over the waterfall, and the others tried to save it. 

Another 2 other elephants were also found struggling on a cliff edge nearby, and they were successfully rescued.
