New targeted petrol subsidy will kick off in January

The RON95 subsidy plan is ready and will be implemented in January next year.

Only eligible recipients from lower income group, B40 will receive subsidies of between RM48 and RM120 quarterly, depending on the type of vehicle they own.

The government will channel the subsidy directly into the accounts of the recipients.

When the scheme is in place, the price of RON95 will be floated. 

The Minister also said the scheme will only apply in the Peninsular, and for Sabah and Sarawak... the price of RON95 will be capped at Rm2.08 per litre.

MACC issues compound notices to 80 individuals and entities

The MACC is hoping to recover about RM420 million stolen from 1MDB, by issuing fines. 

It has issued a compound notice to 80 individuals and companies said to have benefited millions of ringgit from 1MDB.

The list includes entities and individuals from Umno, MCA, MIC, Gerakan and People's Progressive Party, myPPP.

Those who've received the compound notices have 2 weeks to pay up.

Malaysia will listen to any offers for Plus Malaysia, so long as such a move benefits the country. 

Prime MinisterTun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the govt is obligated to study any credible offers that are made for the highway operator. 

Recently, a Malaysian-led Hong Kong-based company tabled a 3.5 billion ringgit bid for PLUS, offering toll discounts of up to 30 percent and promising to demolish toll booths to ease traffic congestion.
