Not everyone is happy about plans to abolish streaming system in schools

Not everyone is on board with the plan to abolish the science and arts streams in secondary schools. 

The Education Ministry announced the move recently, to give students the option to choose which subjects they prefer to study.

However, some education groups are worried that the move could backfire.

The Parents Action Group for Education Malaysia told us that it could lead to students picking easy subjects, and this will limit their options after SPM. 

 Govt considering compulsory immunisations for all newborns

The government is considering compulsory immunisations for all newborns.

The Health Minister told Parliament, its in response to a growing number of parents who choose to rejecting immunisation.

It's also to counter a rise in preventable diseases like TB.

Malaysian director makes it to most powerful people in entertainment list

Sarawak-born filmmaker James Wan has landed a spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s 100 Most Powerful People in Entertainment list for this year.

Wan, who's best known for Aquaman and the Conjuring horror franchise was in 80th place. 

Others on the list include Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, and Barack and Michelle Obama.
