Government to fix congestion at airports

Oct 20, 2019

The government is taking measures to address the congestion at our airports.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke says a special committee has been set up - comprising different agencies and ministries - to ensure smooth operations at the country's main entry points.

He says this is crucial with millions of tourists expected to pour into the country during Visit Malaysia Year 2020.

Tour bus, taxi and even e-hailing services have also been urged to be prepared for the influx of foreign visitors.

He lamented that Malaysians tend to forget about the haze problem the moment the situation gets better - only to start complaining when air quality worsens again.

It says the 600 thousand ringgit threshold announced in Budget 2020 was merely a guide, adding that the states will know best what minimum price to implement.

Tranquility for sale?

Tranquility - the superyacht once owned by fugitive businessman Jho Low - is reportedly up for sale again.

The vessel - formerly known as Equinimity -  was purchased by Genting earlier this year for just over 514 million ringgit, but is now back on the market with an asking price of 837 million.
