New fees for medical GP's soon

The new consultation fees for private medical GP's will be announced by the end of the year.

The Health Minister says the review on the matter is now in the final stage, with the revised rates to be brought to the cabinet soon for approval.

General practitioners have been calling for new fees for some time now, as the current rates have not been revised in over a decade.

Economic stimulus if necessary

The government may consinder an economic stimulus package if the global economy worsens next year. 

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng says the matter had been discussed even before the tabling of Budget 2020. 

Lim adds that the government has already made the necessary preparations, and will act according to economic conditions next year

Avoid Singles Day scams

Online shoppers have been warned to beware of potential scams during the Singles Day e-commerce sales. 

Cybersecurity experts told The Star that fraudsters will be using the sales as an opportunity to target gullible victims by offering deals that are too good to be true.

Health authorities in Spain say they've uncovered the world's first case of dengue that was spread through sexual contact.

Before this, it was thought that dengue was only spread by mosquitoes.
