Another dead elephant in Sabah

Another Borneo Pygmy Elephant has been found dead in Sabah, the 4th such case there since October.
It was found in a ditch, near a plantation in Kinabatangan.
Sabah Wildlife Department says based on preliminary investigatins, the elephant had no injuries and bullets wounds were found on the body.
A post-mortem revealed that it suffered from organ failure, due to suspected acute poisoning.
Samples have been sent to the Chemicals Department for further analysis.

Police have vowed to take tough action against those who lend their cars to foreigners who don't have a driving licence, especially if it results in a fatal accident.
Penang police said this, following several accidents caused by foreigners driving vehicles borrowed from locals.
Recently, a Vietnamese driver ran over an injured a rubbish collecter, and then tried to flee the scene.

BN has retaken the Tanjung Piai parliamentary seat after winning a 6-cornered by-election.
Its candidate, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng won 25 thousand votes, giving him a 15 thousand vote majority.
Meanwhile, turnout for the by-election stood at 75 percent, higher than 70 percent turnout targeted by the Election Commission.
